Every year since 2003, Pamela has been named one of the top 5% of Northern California “Super Lawyers” by San Francisco Magazine. In 2007, she served as the Interim Executive Director for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of San Francisco (LCCR). She served two terms at the Co-Chair of LCCR’s Board of Directors. As Board Co-Chair, she oversaw the coordination of 24 attorneys and various committees. In 2015-16, she served as LCCR’s Director of Special Projects. Pamela has received numerous awards and is a much-enjoyed speaker. Her victories at trial, large money judgments and settlements have become legend in the Bay Area legal community. Her work ethic and tenacity have earned her the respect of her peers.
In 2014, Pamela ran an inspiring campaign for the California State Assembly. In 2016, she was elected to the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee with the highest number of votes ever for that position. As the top vote-getter, she swept a field of 16 candidates, running on her own against the unofficial slate which included nine (9) incumbents. Pamela is currently serving her second term on the Committee.
In 2018, Pamela ran an impressive campaign for Alameda County District Attorney, shocking the political establishment with the level of support she received on a platform of criminal justice reform. In 2022, Pamela was elected to serve as District Attorney, with 53% of the votes cast. Pamela is the first non-appointed, non-anointed District Attorney in 100 years in Alameda County, the first Black woman and the first foster child elected to this seat.
