Each year, commencing in 2002, the critically acclaimed San Francisco dance company Flyaway Productions, honors ten (10) leading women in arts and civic life who have affected great social change. The 10 Women Campaign celebrates the risk, empowerment and social potency of women.
In October 2003, Pamela Y. Price was honored to be one of the women chosen for her contribution within the legal community. In conjunction with the award, Ms. Price received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Barbara Lee.
Ms. Price dedicated her award to ten (10) women, all female correctional officers assigned to work at Pelican Bay State Prison, for their courage and tenacity, and their contributions to the mammoth effort to affect great social change within the California Department of Corrections. These ten phenomenal women include:
